Re: Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994)
This is a crime film through and through.
There are the two main hitmen (Jules and Vincent), who work for the big all-powerful mob boss (Marsellus Wallace). This boss is established as a force to not be reckoned with as he is said to have thrown a man out of a window for inappropriately touching his wife.
Bruce Willis' character is asked to throw a boxing match in exchange for a bribe (another common trope).
The soundtrack has a noir-esque feel to it at points, which then converts to a heavy grindhouse vibe at points (something not so common with the crime genre).
There is a spout of monologues delivered throughout the film, mainly by Samuel L. Jackson's character, which is also something that is seen in the crime genre, i.e. notorious criminals usually use intimidating words and monologues to assert power etc.
