Using the film from the screening, write a section of the Script Report (whichever you prefer, but it needs to be coherent). You can either post it or send it by email.

[OPTIONAL] SCRIPT REPORT: one section based on screening Empty Review of Shaun of the dead Subgenres

Post by Achidlow95 Thu Dec 17, 2015 11:25 pm

Shaun of the dead is a film that has been described as a “Romcomzom”. This meaning a Romantic, comedy zombie film. This claim is undoubtably true as the film is swarming with different genre characteristics. Its romantic content is included through the love quarrel between Liz and Shaun, a couple whos relationship has become repetitive and dull, and Shaun is presented with the mission of spicing things up a bit between them. This is a familiar love dispute that we see in romantic films. Overlapping this subgenre is the problem of the sudden infestation of zombies. This brings blood gour and dramatic fight scenes into the film. Something we expect to see in any zombie film. Finally, as the icing on the cake, the comical input from the multiple characters in the film makes it an overall funny experience. The comical input is defiantly the strongest out of the three, making comedy the dominant genre however each sub-genre that is included does deliver most of the cliche s you would expect to see in that genre. It is cleverly written film, proving its audience with a comfortable amount of laughs, gour and heart-warming moments.
